Saying NO to Hate in
West Yorkshire
Taking Action Together
Standing united against antisemitism through advocacy, education and peaceful community action.
Since October 7th, 2023, our community has come together to stand against antisemitism and hatred in all its forms. Through weekly advocacy sessions, respectful vigils and ongoing outreach, we aim to raise awareness, offer support and create space for unity, reflection and understanding.
Our work is rooted in compassion, solidarity and the belief that community action can make a real difference. We welcome people from all backgrounds who share a commitment to standing up against hate.
LLAA has since become a strong community voice, engaging across the board to combat the antisemitism that is surging through our city and beyond.
Why This Matters?
Antisemitism continues to impact individuals and families locally, nationally and across the globe. Silence allows misinformation and hatred to grow but community action creates visibility, understanding and change. By showing up, speaking out and supporting one another, we help foster a safer, more informed and more united society.
Marches and Demonstrations
As well as the weekly advocacy sessions and regular vigils, we organise occasional marches in Leeds, and travel further afield to join other advocacy groups and individuals at major demonstrations in Manchester and London.
Supporting Students
We have supported Jewish students at Leeds University during periods of hostile campus activity and harassment; and continue to support them through any incidents as they arise.
Challenging False Accusations
The police encourage the Jewish Community to challenge false accusations of genocide, combat the louder voices from terrorist supporters, and challenge antisemitism, including the blood libels that have become prevalent.
We work closely with other grassroots groups to share information about antisemitic activities for investigation by various authorities, and we attend subsequent court appearances as witnesses.
